Hey beauties!
After thinking it was a great idea and cutting my hair in to a pixie crop in 2010 I'm still trying to grow it back! And I know many women are waiting for their hair to be at that desired length. These were the frequently asked questions I use to get asked about growing hair when I was working in a hair salon. How much will my hair grow a month? On average your hair will grow half an inch per month. Why is my hair not growing? You need to look at your lifestyle are you eating the right foods? Foods with vitamin B help keep hair healthy. Are you using heat products too much? Do you need a break from your curling wand? Using heat on your hair can cause it to be in bad condition, If your hair is in poor condition it will snap and break at the ends loosing length. Are you rushing? You can end up yanking more hair out by ripping your hands or a comb through your hair if you rush while styling or washing your hair. What should my diet contain to help my hairs condition and grow it? You need a diet rich in: Protein this will keep hair strong! Vitamin B. Zinc for cell renewal Complex carbs: this provides the energy for protein to turn in to hair cells Should I take hair tablets? Supplements work by mimicking the perfect diet and will support the and boost growth of hair. I have used a few in the past and I can recommend Holland & Barrett Vitamins for the Hair Caplets £14.59 I personally found the price was good and it worked. What can I put on my hair to make it grow and get thicker? You could try this egg hair mask, this will promote growth strengthen hair and leave it shiny! Ingredients: One egg 1 cup of milk (for shoulder length hair use 1/2 cup) A squeeze of lemon Two tablespoons of olive oil 1. With one or two eggs, depending on the length and volume of your hair, separate the egg whites and egg yolk. Beat the separated egg yolks in a clean barter. You can use egg whites for oily greasy hair and egg yolk for dry brittle hair. Use whole egg for normal hair.
2. Add 1 cup of milk and two table spoons of olive oil to the gooey egg mixture and mix well. 3. Add a squeeze of a lemon to the mixture for a refreshing feel of your scalp. Tip: Mix the mask by whisking with an egg beater. 4. Massage well into scalp, working from the roots to the hair ends, and let it sit for at least fifteen minutes. Cover with a disposable plastic shower cap as you do not want egg-y drops everywhere. 5. Using lukewarm or cold water, not hot! You don't want cooked egg in your hair! rinse very well and effectively, tackling all areas of your scalp to get rid of egg bits. 6. Wash your hair with shampoo! and towel dry. What do you think? Is your hair too short? Will you try these tips? Let me know in the comments below! Luna lue x

  1. I've had the same experience trying to grow my hair back after getting a bob in 2010! I've heard of taking vitamins to promote hair growth but I wasn't sure if they worked so thanks for the recommendation. Have you tried any others that have worked?

Hair masks are fantastic - I use a coconut oil mask which I've found to be really effective, which I've talked about on my blog, but I haven't heard of the egg mask so I'll definitely have to give that a try! x

  3. Excellent blog - I've found that only conditioning the ends of your hair can help as it makes the ends extra silky but stops you stripping the roots of the oils that they need to grow.

  5. I find that the most effective way to grow hair, for me, is to flip my hair forward, and massage my scalp with all 10 fingers each night before bed, to stimulate blood flow to the roots.
